What do we mean by "Connecticut's Longest Continually Cruising Car Club"?
It happens to the best of us sometimes. We see what we want to see, hear what we want to hear and read what we want to read, regardless of what's actually there in front of us. Our website claim is no exception. It seems that there has been a fair amount of incorrect interpretation and miscommunication regarding it, and with that in mind we have decided to attempt to clarify that sentence.

ARE WE SAYING THAT WE ARE CONNECTICUT'S OLDEST CAR CLUB?
Certainly not. We know that there are several clubs in the state with extremely longer spans of existence.

ARE WE SAYING WE HAVE BEEN HOLDING CRUISE NIGHTS LONGER THAN ANY OTHER CLUB?
No, although that is one of the major misconceptions going around. There are older clubs out there that have been having cruise nights for more years than we have.

WHAT ARE WE TRYING TO SAY THEN?
The statement says that we have the record for the LONGEST CONTINUAL STRING OF YEARS OF UNINTERRUPTED CRUISE NIGHTS. This information is based on our club records, the records of other state clubs and the personal recollections of members of various clubs of the state and particularly our area. Although other clubs have been cruising for more years, there has been a gap of a missing cruise year (sometimes more) when clubs moved from one cruise location to another. The Classic Nights started cruising in May of 1985 at Bill's Drive-In in Monroe Connecticut, with a final cruise held there in October of 1997. In May of 1998, the Classic Nights moved to their current location at The Village Square Shopping Center, approximately 1/4 mile down the road of the original location, with no gap of cruise dates between the locations and during the move.
